I urge everyone to do so, opt out!!  Call Charter One and tell them you want to opt out of the PayPass feature.  They'll mail you a new ATM card and in theory (I'll verify when I get mine) no RFID.

I'm actually quite stunned that they do this.  Try to get a card without the 'MegaRewards' logo, even if you're not enrolled...  I suspect this is a good indicator that the technology isn't as secure as they say.  The customer service rep I talked to didn't even ask why. 

UPDATE 3/27/06: Got my new non-RFID card the other day, appears to be clean.  I haven't tested to make 100% sure but I can find no evidence of an RFID chip.
