Well, not really.. but this ZDNed blog mentions my part in a Wall Street Journal article that came out yesterday (4/10/2006).

What too many don't seem to realize is that we're all too often being shortchanged.

I urge everyone to do so, opt out!!  Call Charter One and tell them you want to opt out of the PayPass feature.  They'll mail you a new ATM card and in theory (I'll verify when I get mine) no RFID.

I'm actually quite stunned that they do this.  Try to get a card without the 'MegaRewards' logo, even if you're not enrolled...  I suspect this is a good indicator that the technology isn't as secure as they say.  The customer service rep I talked to didn't even ask why.
