This morning it's all about some dubious 'science' proving that a single puff of a cigarette can kill you....

Anybody that believes that is an idiot.... 

It's amazing how the news 'reporters' can't seem to vet anything.  This is obviously a ploy by the pharmaceutical industry to get people scared of smoking so when it's time for the typical new years resolution.. it'll be to quit smoking and become addicted to far more dangerous and profitable drugs.

As I'm sure everyone knows, the Census 2010 is in full swing.  For those that didn't receive the forms (a lot of them as they didn't send forms to PO/Carrier routes) they are wasting money hiring people to 'collect' information.  For the time being we'll ignore the fact that they are attempting to collect information far beyond what the Constitution authorizes (a enumeration, which doesn't require 'race' or any other questions beyond how many people live here).

Oh boy, here they come (this was visit four, first 3 were around 5pm and only Curly showed up..no Moe).  I was not at home while these characters were skulking around on my property:

So, we've effectively quit smoking, and are now vaping!  If you haven't heard about 'electronic cigarettes' they vaporize a liquid composed of propolene glycol (considered safe food additive, same kinda stuff used in fog machines) and nicotine (or no nic if you choose).  The 'smoke' is a vapor that doesn't stink, doesn't have the 1000's of nasty ingredients of burning tobacco and is much safer according to the research that is out there.  Side benefit is you can do this anywhere, no laws against it yet.
