Both the models you mentioned come with some options. The pre-runners all have alloy wheels and SR5 pkg#2. The 4X4 all have the tow prep package. It is just me?  Or did he just claim that they don't build them without?  Of course when I went to buytoyota.com I found that I can indeed get one without.
